HIDDEN GUTTER REMOVAL
PROJECT 2026

Picture
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

1.  Coordinate scaffolding set up and removal.

2.  Remove slate as necessary.  Save the good slate for client reuse.

3.  Remove all necessary metal, cap stones, decorative corner pieces, hidden gutter membrane and old steel hidden gutter beneath it.  Dry-in building daily.

4.  Perform slate repairs as necessary.

5.  Replace existing plumbing vent stacks with SLATOR 2" stainless steel leak proof system.

6.  Re-flash the chimney?

7.  Re-point the chimey?

8.  Reframe the perimeter edge of the main building to a 2:12 or 3:12 pitch back to the steep roof section.  Use all SYP (no Spruce), and 3/4 plywood (no OSB).

9.  Replace any rotten or structurally deficient wood.

10.  Match trim and soffit details to resemble the right side addition.

11.  Build an interior attic wall to help support the rafters (and the roof load).

12.  Install a Roofinox (stainless steel) double lock standing seam metal roof on new lower pitch areas.

13.  Add a perimeter edge snow guard on the standing seam roof.

14.   Add snow guards on the slate roof.

15.  Add permanent life-safety fall protection points for safe service.

16.  Paint as necessary.

17.  Replace the hidden gutter system with the (dark brown) Nordic Steel half round gutter system.  Pitch all gutters 1/16"-1/8" per foot towards the downspouts.
