CUSTOM ROOF ANCHORS AND MORE:
Some of our roof anchor projects are exceptionally different, such as the historic State Building of Maryland and the Second National Bank of the United States. OSHA's fall protection requirements, however, remain the same. Fall protection is required for workers if a potential fall hazard greater than 6 feet exists.
If your situation is unique, no worries. You are not alone. We help architects and building owners create safer working conditions. We are often able to design, manufacture, certify, and also install anchors to meet worker's needs for the lifetime of your building. Anchor in. Live long.
Eight of the anchor assemblies (shown in the photo at top of this page) will be used around the dome on the State building of Maryland. Only the cast bronze cap will be visible from outside the building.

Maryland State House
Our cast bronze cap will be added once the new flat lock soldered copper roof is installed.
These anchors will allow workers to safely service the new slate roof, and the next, and the next, for the life of the building.

custom stainless steel dome top
BEFORE: The cornices were falling off the perimeter. The top leaked. Workers had no fall protection anchors.
SOLUTION: Replace the old hatch with a new 7 gauge stainless steel top, fully welded water tight. Redesign the hatch opening to give better access all the way around and include 2 OSHA compliant anchor points (16 total) into the new design for the workers to use during their rope access installation of the new membrane covering the dome.

SPECIAL ADAPTATION FOR THIN STEEL RAFTERS - RESIDENCE
Nine anchor assemblies (as shown below) are being installed on a fine Texas residence with 1/16" thickness steel rafters. We designed the bottom of the anchor assembly to transfer up to 5,000 pounds of forces through the roof structure without having to add any structural members. The "carriage" is hidden beneath the roof sheathing and 3/4" thick heavy slate. Only our standard flashing plate will be visible from above.
Fully welded 11, 14, and 16 gauge stainless steel hidden gutter.
180 degree turn. 1 expansion joint. 10' radius
This gutter has 60 yards of continuous tig welds. The gutter slopes 1/16" per foot from the middle expansion joint to a downspout on each end. The pieces fit so well together that we only used 3 pounds of filler rod. Only the front lip of this gutter is visible from the ground. The roof membrane can easily be replaced over time. The gutter should look and function the same for the next 200 years.
