Bibby with Handle
Our Bibby (Patented 2017) was the best selling new roofing tool in 2017 because it makes separating well sealed asphalt shingles much easier, while also minimizing damage to adjacent shingles. When the prybar begins giving you a tough time, reach for the Bibby.
Save the old Bibby blades to fix the holes in the shingle. Simply flatten the long bend and then bend down the holding tabs 90 degrees. Apply a line of sealant on the front and a dab on the back and slip the Bibby underneath the shingles that have holes in them. Press down on the shingle so that the sealant oozes through the holes from underneath, wipe off the excess and tap the "hidden" tabs lightly with a hammer and you're done! Sprinkle shingle granules from the gutter onto the exposed sealant holes for a nearly invisible repair.
The last video, done with an earlier version of the Bibby is a bit corny, however, it illustrates how the old Bibby blades should be saved to help make perfect and easy shingle repairs. A proper repair is leakproof, practically invisible and should take 3 minutes or less. Installing a roof anchor through asphalt shingles and easily repairing the holes will add 15 minutes to each job.
These 15 minutes may add years to your life, so we always install/use fall protection.
After over 30 years of climbing on roofs, we still have not seen a job are worth dieing for.
