NOTE:  Just like us, this page is under continuous development.  So, some link buttons (the darkly shaded ones) are not yet active, and information changes as we change and gear changes.  If you are considering working on steep pitch roofs, wonderful!  It's a lot of fun and can be done more safely than your drive home today most likely. This page will show you the gear we use, why we use it, and where you can get it.  Stay tuned!
Slator, LLC is a Petzl Technical Partner specializing in serving our colleagues in the roofing community.

We climb on roofs of all types regularly as we perform inspections, make repairs, do replacements, and install permanent anchors.

We have absorbed techniques from arborists, rescue personnel and added our own ideas to evolve into 100% fall protection techniques ...  setting our temporary anchor points before stepping off of the ground.  We are still evolving as roofs, gear, and anchor points change.

In 20 years, we've had three different people fall, . . . and three saves.  Training works.  Fall protection works.

Below is a list of some gear that I like, and use regularly.  You will find my brief summary of each item as well as a product link so you can learn more or purchase the item directly at Petzl.com.  You may also find a link to a YouTube video I've done relating to the product or a specific technique.  If you find it helpful, click the "Like" button, make a comment or subscribe if you want to know when I've posted another video.

Whether you are brand new in the roofing, solar, construction industry, or a 40 year veteran, you will probably find some useful tips here.

I hope that you find this site helpful, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.  We are very happy for everyone to have safe working conditions.  I believe if you create safe working conditions, then you can deliver your absolute best work for your client, and go home to your family when the day is done.

Namaste! ... and thank you for working safely.
