GREAT THINGS FOR YOU TO KNOW:
One bracket style may work well for many different roof pitches, however, picking the bracket that matches your roof pitch will give you the easiest installation for both rafters and trusses.
Yes, we do travel and perform installations when asked.
Yes, we can work with your team on-site until they are comfortable and want to take over the installation.
We want your installation to be easy. In the real world, boards are not straight, rafters are not plumb and things get in the way.
We've done this a bunch, so ... contact us if you have questions. We're happy to help.
Yes, discounts are possible for large quantity orders.
1. Your anchor should be plumb.
2. It needs to extend through the ridge enough so your connector moves well in the anchor without binding. As with all anchor systems, your connectors must be inspected for compatibility with the V-18 anchor and your workers should be trained.
3. The anchor is rated for 2 users (if both workers are utilizing 900 pound load limiting lanyards). If a worker is using an 1800 pound load limiting lanyard, then the anchor is rated for only a single user.
4. The anchor point is intentionally designed for one connector to keep 3 workers from connecting to it ... because if they can ... they will.
5. 5,000 pound rated slings may be used for attaching incompatible connectors or for utilizing the V-18 with two workers (who are using 900 pound load limiting lanyards.). Talk to your safety professional, contact us, or even better ... have your safety professional contact us to learn more.
6. If your pitch is greater than a 12/12, you will need to purchase the custom option.
7. If your anchor connector point extends greater than 6.5" above the top of the anchor bracket, the load rating of the anchor decreases and we will provide a custom, thicker anchor bar. Roof sheathing, materials and ridge vents thicknesses vary. You may contact us to lay out your specific situation to be sure the anchor will work for your situation.
8. If you need us to make special flashing pieces, we can do that. There are simply too many variations in roof materials, pitches and ridge styles for us to stock items.
9. If you expect to load the anchor parallel to the ridge or use an engineered one person horizontal lifeline, you must add wood blocking per our instructions to distribute the load.

Follow our blocking installation diagram for loading perpendicular to the rafter or truss. This is necessary for meeting OSHA's 5,000 pound load requirement for potential fall hazards perpendicular to the rafter or truss major axis orientation, or with engineered horizontal lifeline systems.
(23) V-18's are being installed on this University dorm renovation project to replace these horizontal lifelines. The horizontal lifelines are being removed because they failed the load tests, damage the support structure and are hazardous.

Blocking is added to distribute forces and give the anchor a 5,000 pound rating in any direction.
