This video is 16 minutes long and thoroughly covers a V-5 permanent anchor installation on a slate roof from start to finish. The installation is relatively simple, and once safe roof access is secured, an experienced two person team should be able to install a V-5 in this situation in around an hour. New roof installation scenarios would, of course, take less time.
This installation inspired a simple design change that provides more adjustment options. We now make two standard sizes of the V-5 anchor (although custom sizes are still available upon request). Model 6-8 fits 2 x 6 and 2 x 8 rafters and Model 10-12 fits 2 x 10 and 2 x 12 rafters. Each model has addtional adjustment holes to accomodate varying thicknesses of roof sheathing and slate or other roof material. If you service the same clients regularly, we recommend you stock some of each model to avoid lead times after ordering. Contact us to place orders in the continental USA.
